The threadfin snailfish, Paroconger. infracolumella, is a small species of fish that lives in high-pressure and low-oxygen environments. It's elongated fins give it its name "threadfin." It was first identified in 1950 and found at depths of 4,000 meters or more. Despite living in such extreme conditions, the fish has adapted to survive in deep water by developing special blood cells and muscles.
